Home is Everywhere

Ruhr University Bochum is open to people from all over the world and promotes international exchange among students and teaching staff. Its global networks connect researchers with teams of experts around the world.

“The Ruhr University Bochum’s internationalization programme is fantastic,” says David. He came from Ecuador as an exchange student and is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Subsurface Engineering. David loves the many different cultures on campus. “I feel right at home whenever I hear my mother tongue, Spanish.”

It’s fun to have people from all over the world at the university.

Katherine, research assistant

As a research assistant in an internationalization program, Katherine contributes greatly to the welcoming culture at Ruhr University Bochum. She coordinates foreign language courses and exchange programs and communicates with students and lecturers from other countries on a daily basis. “Other cultures are fascinating and inspiring,” stresses the alumna enthusiastically.
