Ruhr University Bochum Foundation

The RUB Foundation is an independent foundation under civil law with legal capacity and is recognized as a nonprofit organization. The foundation expands the scope of action of Ruhr University Bochum beyond its basic state funding.

It initiates and facilitates projects in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer, and provides targeted support for outstanding ideas and talent so that they have the best possible conditions to reach their full potential. Together with dedicated individuals, it drives innovation and academic excellence.

Your endowment contribution or bequest increases the RUB Foundation’s potential and becomes part of the foundation’s assets.

If you wish to support a specific cause over the long term, you can establish an endowment fund or a trust foundation bearing your name under the umbrella of the RUB Foundation. Your donated assets will be preserved permanently and will sustainably ensure the fulfillment of the respective foundation’s purpose – in accordance with the donors’ wishes.

The goal is to work together to achieve the greatest possible impact for our university and, above all, for our students.

Statements of expenditures for ongoing projects:

  • Please send your statement of expenditures via email as a PDF file. Please do not send us Excel spreadsheets, Word files, etc. Statements of expenditures sent by mail will not be considered.
  • We expect to receive your statement of expenditures unsolicited two weeks after the completion of your project – no later than December 31 of the year in which the funding was provided according to the application.
  • Did you not use all of the funding from the RUB Foundation? Please contact us and transfer any unspent funds back to the RUB Foundation by December 31 at the latest.
