Program for the awarding of prizes for successful initial DFG projects

What is the aim of the program?

With this program, the university rewards the successful initial acquisition of an independent DFG research project. The measure is intended to help create an incentive for early research independence, especially among young researchers, and to overcome possible inhibitions in connection with submitting their own first proposal.

Who can apply for the award?

The program is aimed at all RUB researchers whose proposals have been approved by the DFG under the designation "DFG First Proposal". The DFG initial proposal is part of the start-up funding for early career researchers introduced by the DFG in June 2009. Information on the DFG's initial funding can be found at www.dfg.de.

Who decides on the proposal?

The awarding of grants is non-competitive. All researchers whose "DFG First Proposal" has been approved receive the award once. All DFG initial proposals that are approved after the announcement of this award program will be considered.

How much is the award?

There is a one-off award of 3,000 euros.

What are the application deadlines?

None. You can submit an application at any time.

We look forward to receiving your applications!
