Ruhr University Bochum harnesses diversity as a strength: It promotes the cooperation of all members of the university community, regardless of gender, origin, skin color and religion.
Saiman and Zhenya work for the student mental health and counseling office and explain why diversity is the norm.
“Both the people who come to us for advice and our counseling team are very diverse,” says Saiman, who is visually impaired. “Our diversity is the foundation for trustworthy, sensitive and professional counseling.” Saiman is aware of the risk of being discriminated against as a diverse person. “I’m grateful that Ruhr University Bochum is addressing this issue.”
