Combining family commitments such as bringing up children or caring for relatives with studying or working can be challenging. Students, teaching staff and employees receive support at Ruhr University.
Students and (expectant) parents are faced with many questions: How do I manage? How do I organise myself? What funding options are there?
The psychological student counseling service is available to answer these and other questions and provide individual advice.
Even if it doesn't look like it at first glance: There are many parents studying at the Ruhr-Universität! And there are many who have other family commitments, such as caring for parents or grandparents. They are invited to exchange ideas in the Peer Quarter: in the Care Café, at the lunch meeting or in self-organised groups such as Campus Stars.
A business trip - can I take my child with me? School vacations, but no vacation yet - what options are there? The services offered by the family-friendly university make life easier for parents working at the Ruhr-Universität, for example with breastfeeding and nappy-changing rooms, mobile nurseries and school holiday care.
A care case and suddenly nothing works at home anymore? Together with its partner BUK, the Family-friendly University provides advice and can arrange care options.
