Digitale RUB

Steering and shaping the digital transformation in the university, bundling requirements and tackling them in a structured way – these are the key objectives of the program “Digitale RUB”.

The university will remain attractive as an employer only if everyone at Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) has easy access to administrative services in digital form and if these services support research and teaching in the best possible way. In addition, the digitalization of administrative processes is also stipulated by legal requirements such as the NRW E-Government Act (E-Governmentgesetz NRW) and the Online Access Act and is financially supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science. Under the umbrella of the Digital University NRW, Ruhr University Bochum has joined forces with other universities across the Land of NRW, which are developing model solutions for digital processes, so that each benefits from the experience and groundwork laid by the others.

PDV evolves into “Digitale RUB”

We are constantly moving forward. The Program for Process Orientation and Digitization of Administration (PDV) has become “Digitale RUB”: Since December 2023, this has been the new umbrella name for the strategic digitalization projects at Ruhr University Bochum.

Why a New Name?

Since 2019, the strategic digitalization projects have been coordinated under this program name. However, the projects usually extend beyond the university administration and we want to take this reality into account and broaden the perspective accordingly. Under the umbrella of Digital RUB, we also offer projects such as the implementation of a new campus management system a good platform.

The program continues to identify and prioritize processes that need to be optimized and digitalized. All employees involved in this process receive support in project, process and change management as needed. Comprehensive solutions are developed and made available for challenges faced by all project teams.
