Family-friendly
At RUB, it is not only the community on campus that is valued. Students, lecturers and employees alike receive support in balancing their careers, studies and care responsibilities.
RUB recognises the desire to balance family, career and studies and helps families with children as well as people caring for their relatives by offering individual guidance and support (e.g. holiday childcare) to help them manage their career and studies alongside their care responsibilities.
Students with parenting and work responsibilities
Children of RUB members romp around in the UniKids daycare centre, the Unizwerge playgroup and the daycare centre KiTa am Lennershof. While the toddlers enjoy playing with other children and exploring new things, their parents are studying or working at RUB.
Charter “Familie in der Hochschule”
In 2015, RUB signed the charter “Familie in der Hochschule” (family at university). Since then, the university has been collaborating with more than a hundred universities and scientific institutions in German-speaking countries to create better study and work conditions for families.
