Documents
Your faculty is requested to submit an application for approval for professorial vacancies scheduled for the upcoming year. The service portal offers a guideline for approval and appointment procedures, an assistant for planning and implementing appointment procedures, as well as other aids and guidelines for dean’s offices and members of commissions. The documents are available for download only via our intranet.

Welcome Centre
The Welcome Centre is the information office and service centre for international mobile researchers at Ruhr University Bochum.
Family service
Ruhr University Bochum wishes to create the ideal working environment for all researchers. This is why the university has set up a family service office for all members who are bringing up children or caring for relatives:
We are committed to helping the partners of newly appointed researchers find a job. Ruhr University provides assistance from the moment the appointment negotiations commence.
Accommodation in Bochum
Apartments are advertised in the free local newspaper “Stadtspiegel Bochum” (“Stadtspiegel” is not commercially available; it is dispatched to all Bochum citizens and distributed in public locations such as stores, cafés etc. on Wednesdays and Saturdays) and in “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung” – WAZ. In addition, apartments in and around Bochum are advertised on the following pages.
