Human Resources development
RUB helps its researchers and scholars plan their careers. RUB provides assistance regarding research grants, appointment negotiations, and research project management – and helps them shape their profile after completing their PhD degrees. Early career researchers have a large selection of training and coaching programmes, seminars and events at their disposal, in order to strengthen and expand their skills and competencies.
One for all: the Research School supports all PhD students and postdocs at RUB. It is in charge of all aspects of academic career development. Early career researchers will be given valuable input and instruments to reach their career objectives in research efficiently and in good time. The Research School thus helps early career researchers hone their profile, boost their visibility, and gain a competitive edge in the international arena.
At RUB, several Research Schools and junior research groups ensure structure and exchange. Within the networks, early career researchers benefit from their fellows’ expertise and from stimulating collaborations with other disciplines.
Starting out as a researcher is a complex undertaking. RUB is happy to advise early career researchers on all aspects of their career development. Early career researchers are given the opportunity to ask pertinent questions and receive relevant answers in individual interviews. The mentoring programme guides them step by step into the wide world of science and research.
Prior to, after, or during the PhD: ScienceCareerNet Ruhr (SCNR) offers the perfect consultancy package for every phase of the academic career, tailor-cut for your discipline. The cross-university programme specifically addresses early career researchers at RUB, TU Dortmund and the University of Duisburg-Essen.
