Our programmes are also designed to support international talents. International students are a great asset to the campus and provide new perspectives in Bochum.

International encounters broaden horizons. This is why Ruhr University Bochum supports international students on their way to Bochum. Students from all over the world contribute to a culturally diverse campus and have the opportunity to hone their talents at Ruhr University.
University without borders
As a university without borders, Ruhr University Bochum is actively and sustainably committed to the integration of refugees and supports them on their career path in Germany.
One example of this is the uniWORKcity programme, which provides assistance in entering the German labour market.
Lehrkräfte plus
Lehrkräfte plus is a vocational qualification programme for refugee teachers, which prepares them for a job as a (substitute) teacher at a secondary school in Germany.
Ruhr Fellowship Program
The universities of the University Alliance Ruhr (Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University, University of Duisburg-Essen), in cooperation with sponsors and companies in the region, have been welcoming up to 20 students from selected partner universities as part of the Ruhr Fellowship Programme every summer since 2012.
